Link to mycentraljersey endorsement here.

They recommend Gatto (R) for Mayor, Stabile (D), Hitchcock (D), Habeeb (R) and Mullen (R) for Council.

As an editorial aside, I think it’s wack that they have any opinion at all, given how little they know about what goes on in North Plainfield.

I also find it very odd that they think it’s enough to have one Council member (Habeeb) as “the eyes and ears of the average resident on the governing body.” That’s what all seven are supposed to be. If she’s the only one representing the average resident, who do the other six represent?

There is only one way to achieve CHANGE in North Plainfield. The entire TEAM of Gatto, Habeeb, D;Amore, Lorenzi and Mullen must be elected. They will then have the ability to vote for changes to the way we do business. Give them 4 years and hold them accountable. Unless they get the votes, there are those still loyal to Allen to do her bidding.

Change will not come from the Repbs. If anything this group will make this town worse. That is my feelings, just listening to them talk scarce me to death.

Habeeb is not the eyes and ears of the average resident. If she is then this town is falling into the pit.

Vote for the Dems. they have the really world experince to solve the problems in town.

The Democrats and the Republicans both thank you for your non-partisan support.

My eyes were immediately drawn to your words “Change will not come from the Repbs. If anything this group will make this town worse. Vote for the Dems they have the really world experience to solve the problems in town.”

    A few questions please:

    1. “Change will not come from the Repbs.”

    Q. Why do we need change? Aren’t the Dems doing a great job?

    2. “If anything they will make it worse.”

    Q. Doesn’t something already have to be bad in order to get worse? How did it get bad?

    3. “Vote for the Dems they have the really (real) world experience to solve the problems in town”

    Q. Oh, are there problems in town? Well, let’s ask and see if you can tell me: What has been the majority party in town the past 12 years?

Thanks for the well thought out endorsement.

I like this quote the best,

“Vote for the Dems. they have the really world experince to solve the problems in town.”

Obviously, they have not used the “really” world experience in the past 12 years. Attacking Barbara Habeeb is also wonderful. It makes everyone want to follow your lead.

I am enjoying your use of the word, “wack”.

Anonymous, you’re not the sharpest knife in the drawer, first of all, the Republicans will do 100% more than the Dems did. Oh that’s right, the Dems did NOTHING in the past 12 years, and you can’t even spell the word scare, so I suggest you stay in school.
    REMEMBER, VOTE REPUBLICAN, Nov 4th,
    and lets save NORTH PLAINFIELD

I find it remarkable that the Courier wouldn’t support Paolo Lorenzi. I think he is a shining example of what an elected official should be in this town–speaking calmly, clearly, directly, and rationally.

On the other hand, I do believe Skip Stabile is an excellent candidate (should I duck?). I still believe that he is capable of individual thought and in personal conversation with him he appears to truly grasp the issues and is seeking to work with people who want change. Having been an only voice in a sea of nonsense, I know it is hard to fight the tide. And so do the Republicans. Isn’t their warcry that one or two candidates won’t work–it must be the whole team? I’m not sure I disagree, but then this is also why I am supportive of Stabile. I believe that if he were surrounded by more people willing to listen to new ideas and consider them, he could be a positive force.

I don’t feel that an overwhelming majority of any one party is a healthy thing.
