Community Loss–by Mark Williams

On Sunday February 8th a young life was taken from our community in another senseless act of violence. North Plainfield High School senior Christian Tigsi was shot and killed in Plainfield, while riding in a car with a friend according to police reports. Recent reports by Chief Wm. Parenti, at the February 5th, NPCCR sponsored Public Safety night, indicate that North Plainfield is a safe community to live in and violent crime statistics are down.

I think we can all agree that any lose of a community member by violent crime, whether in North Plainfield, Plainfiled, Watchung or any number of surrounding communities can cause us to feel less safe, particularly our young people.

I would like take this opportunity to extend my heart felt condolences to the family and friends of this young man and particularly to his friends from North Plainfield High School that are left behind to mourn his death
